Breast Growth

The breasts in a female body are made up of fatty tissues and mammary glands. The darkish patch around the nipples is areola. As a girl attains puberty, i.e. when a girl starts getting her periods, the breasts show the signs of growth. A slight lump is felt in the breasts. This is the breast bud. As the girl grows, the breast bud also grows. It becomes bigger and circular in shape, and the breasts grow.

The growth of the breast can be contributed to two hormones –estrogen and progesterone. The hormones induce the mammary glands to produce breast tissues. This leads to development of the breasts at the puberty stage. When the breasts grow, the areola also grows. It gets bigger and darker. The color of areola and the nipples would vary from person to person, depending upon the skin tone of the person.

The age of puberty and the beginning of the breast growth will vary significantly from person to person, depending upon diet, heredity, body structure and the like.  In developed countries where the nutrition value is much better, the breast growth, begin as early as 7 to 8 years. In some, it may start in the early teens. When the breasts begin to grow, they are tender to touch and often painful. There may be reddening on the nipples. This is due to the hormonal changes taking place in the body.

The breasts continue to grow for about 3 to 4 years after puberty. The breast growth is hereditary in nature. The breasts could be small, medium or large. Whatever be the breast size, there would not be any problem in nursing the baby. Large breasts have always been considered as a sign of beauty. There is an increasing trend in women all over the world to use various methods to enhance the growth of the breasts. The natural growth happens only during teen age.

Various methods used to enhance the breast growth are:

Exercise: Exercising regularly helps the breast growth. The pectoral muscles stretch when you exercise and contribute to breast growth.

Diet: Eating the right diet enhances breast growth. Fenugreek, fennel, wild yam, watercress, dandelion are all good breast enhancers.

Breast enhancement pills: The pills contain estrogen like compounds from plants. This induces activity in the mammary glands as it happens at the time of puberty and enhances breast growth.

Breast Creams: Massaging with breast creams is useful, when it is combined with breast enhancement pills. The enhancement is permanent.

Breast Pumps: Breast pumps stretch the breast tissues and enlarge them. The breast pump should be worn for 12 hours in a day for a continuous period to cause breast growth.

Breast Augmentation surgery: Breasts can be surgically enhanced by inserting implants in them. Implants are made up of silicon. The silicon implant is filled with saline water or liquid silicone and is placed beneath the breasts or behind the pectoral muscles. The surgery is quite costly. Most of the Hollywood celebrities have under gone breast augmentation surgery to enhance breast growth.
